Random - ness post

Mr G is on an "over nighter" business trip, in NZ would you believe?

Today I was sick with a flu-ey thing. So was Ango and so was Miss M. We stayed home while the other two went to NZ and school. We healed together. Well we were at home together.

My nails are long. For the first time in my life I have long, hard, healthy nails. Why did this take so long to achieve? Yay something off my bucket list.

I over ate BIG time today. I feel no guilt. This is strange.

I went to the chemist today to get various things for the sickies. I only did this so I could detour to the Wool Shop next to the chemist. I added to my stash.

I also bought chocolate from the newsagents. I don't buy things from the milk bar, the proprietor is simply too rude to deserve my business. The newsagent is nice. I feel very close to the lady in the wool shop.

Tonights muffins are chia seed and mixed berries.

My children really helped out tonight to get ready for the next day. When I returned to my armchair one of them had left me a large glass of water to sip on whilst I watched my movie.  It feels good to be loved and considered.

We watched Up earlier tonight. It always makes me cry. I love Up, Mr H looks like my Dad. Watching up makes me feel sad and lonely for my mum whom he left behind.

I have pantry moths.

Finally we have some cool weather.

It feels good to crochet again.

I wonder when I will go nuts on knitting again.

Should I change my blog title? It feels kind of fraudulent these days, i hardly knit.

I should knit more.

I don't feel tired. I should. I have been awake since 2am. But I have been slothing in bed, with A and M watching Harry Potter. Hope I sleep better tonight. No coughing.

I am watching New Beginnings. Bit slow. Mr G would hate this. Glad he is not here heckling the movie.

I am going to stop being random now. Goodnight

Baby it's hot outside

Oh the heat, I just couldn't take it and due to my increased days at work (3-4), I couldn't get out of the kitchen!  You see if I do not make at least three meals for the freezer or fridge, I am sunk. My whole system is thrown into chaos, please don't make share how I know this I simply haven't got the emotional fortitude to revisit that trauma!

It has been super super hot here on the tail end of summer, stinking hot. But you get that in this country, it is hot, bloody hot. Doesn't it make you wonder why we even bother raising it when we know this....ahh people are funny aren't we.

So how has your weekend been? We have been in this a LOT

Then when we finally dried off we hit the cafes of Carlton and here I will seize your captive audience to show off my gorgeous kids!

Mr G and I recently took in a bit of theatre and saw this and it was amazing!

Summer of the Seventeenth Doll

In addition to this we have been attending Scouting Events for Founders Day, basketball games and catching up with mates. Running at full capacity but still kicking back in the evenings, just the way we like it. I will leave you lovely bloggers with a bit of baking and making and say ta ta, see you soon, yes i will!

A day at the aquarium

Today was a rare day when we had nothing to do but just to
head out and enjoy a favourite family outing - the Melbourne Aquarium

Must admit I was smitten with the cheeky penguins so much so that
I managed to get left behind by everyone at the penguins!

Finally I did find the rest of the bunch and was chastised accordingly
for wasting their time looking for me! My how the tables have turned, he kids
looking for me!

I grabbed this photo opportunity thinking it was "so cute, just like when they
were little, all lined up" - afterwards I was horrified to discover it was the shark
tank and they had been baiting the sharks with their hands! Ahhh!

Martha is soooo shy! ha ha.

Finally i can show you

And I am back again. My computer has been in the shop and I couldn't blog.
I didn't like that very much, especially when I have things to show!

Miss M made these lovely pencil holders, one will take pride of place
on my desk at work next week

I am making my first quilt, well second really I made a lovely one
for Miss M's cot many years ago, in fact she still sleeps with it. This one
is a basic square patch, and I am using up just scraps from previous projects.
It really is hard work though, trying to get the squares to match up, I am surprised to find this.
Any tips on making this quilt less labour intensive will be most appreciate!
